Known for his no-nonsense approach to business, Robert Reed Church began his formative years working on luxury steamboats owned by his father. This introduction to ownership and concierge services would influence his adult years where he would go on to save, restore, and establish what we know today as Beale St. in Memphis, Tennessee. His saloon -- among other businesses he owned -- hosted many of the most notable civil rights leaders during its time.
