The United States Supreme Court case, 'Brown V. Board of Education 1954' monumentally declared separate school systems, based on race, unconstitutional. The lead attorney, Thurgood Marshall, who brought the case to trial, would go on to become the first Black Supreme Court Justice in its, at the time, 178 year history.
